ESN Trondheim is a volunteer non-profit, non-governmental and non-religious organization and was one of the first 60 ESN sections in Europe. ESN Trondheim's main goal is the integration of exchange students into Norwegian life and Trondheim. It is run by volunteer students in Trondheim.
We organize events and parties throughout the year so that you can get to know other exchange students, discover Trondheim and the rest of Norway, as well as some of Norway's customs and traditions.
Past events include ski weekends in Åre, Sweden and Vemdalen, Sweden, trips to Lofoten, Geiranger, Røros, Finnish Lapland, a visit of Nidar's chocolate factory, international dinners (a potluck dinner with specialities from different countries), ESN SeaBattle, surfing trips to the west coast of Norway, barbecues by the lake and huge parties in the clubs of Trondheim.
ESN Trondheim also take care of the buddy programme. The purpose of the buddy programme is to assist international students in Trondheim with integration in the Norwegian student life. The buddy on his side, get the opportunity to practice a foreign language, get acquainted with different cultures and get involved in the international community in Trondheim. We are part of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), a non-profit international student organisation that represents international students, with over 600 local sections (such as us) in 47 ountries all over Europe and a total of about over 15.000 volunteers.
